Can i create contacts public folder with limited permission if I can so how to manage read / write permission @ this folder to manage permission user by user or group by group Hi, You can do this task using Exchange Management Shell (server application) and outlook (client application), and You will create a parent public folder in exchange and then a child "Contacts Public Folder" under that parent public folder using Outlook. 1- Contact Public Folder is created using Outlook into an existing public folder, where you have at leaset "Publishing Author" permission. This permssion is granted using Exchange Management Shell (EMS) by running Add-PublicFolderClientPermission command. Plz have a look into this link for details of permission available: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124743.aspx 2. After creating public folder in Outlook you use Add-PublicFolderClientPermission command in EMS to assign permission on public folder to a user/group or Remove-PublicFolderClientPermission to remove a permission from public folder for a user/group. Steps to share Public Folder Contacts in Exchange 2010: Create a Top-Level Public Folder in Exchange Server using EMC or EMS (new-PublicFolder command) Assign client permissions on the Public Folder using Add-publicFolderClientPermission command in EMS . You must give the user, who will create a subfolder in this public folder using outlook, at least Publishing Author permission, Now login to oultook using the credentials of the user whom u gave permission on the public folder. Goto public folders and Create a sub public folder under the Public Folder u created in exchang using Microsoft Outlook as a "Contact public folder". In order to set up the subfolder as a Shared Contacts, you will need to assign client permissions on the contacts public folder to the users of your choice using Add-PublicFolderClientPermission command. You can also use "Remove-PublicFolderClientPermission" to remove client permissions from the contacts public folder. Note: By EMC I meant Public Folder Management Console, available in Tools section of EMC. Hope this help. You can't manage "Contact Public Folder" from OWA, thats why you cant see them in OWA. Here is somewhat related MS article, which refers Exchange 2003, I think same holds for Ex 2007. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/192775 Laeeq Qazi|Team Lead(Exchange + Sharepoint + BES + DynamicsCRM) www.HostingController.com

You can manage "Contacts public folders" from OWA 2007/2010 too as long as you have permission. @Saif: For your problem of "UserName (UserName@DomainName.com) has invited you to view his or her Microsoft Exchange Contacts. For instructions on how to view shared folders on Exchange, see the following article" Plz have a look into solution mentioned in this article: http://www.gridview.org/kb/Outlook2007/You-cannot-open-an-Outlook-folder-from-a-sharing-invitation-that-you-receive-from-another-Outlook-user.aspx Regards, Laeeq Qazi|Team Lead(Exchange + Sharepoint + BES + DynamicsCRM) www.HostingController.com
